Retail Building
Miami, FL
DACRA + LVMH
Completed 2016, Size: 9,900 ft2
The JBL Building program specifies flexible multi-tenant retail spaces. In its current layout, the building will house five distinct brands, with retail units ranging from 2,500 to 4,500 square feet across two floors. Situated within the Design District, the Moore Building stands out as a prominent neoclassical brick atrium structure and is among the few masonry buildings in the vicinity. Similarly, the JBL Building is being constructed with brick and occupies the opposite corner of the same block as the Moore Building. The brick detailing is deliberately crafted to evoke the precision of tailoring. The façades feature alternating projections and recesses, forming recessed entrances. At points where the façades "fold," the brickwork creates a visual "seam," reminiscent of a finely tailored suit. To balance a cohesive architectural identity with the need for individual brand expression, the design allocates dedicated areas for each tenant to implement customized graphics and materials.
